I have been horrible about posting lately...I promise to get some pictures up soon. We have been so busy lately. That is a horrible excuse, but it is the best I've got. So, here is a short Aiden story
As I was trying to get Aiden to settle down for the evening, we popped in a movie. As it was starting up, and the music was playing, he started bouncing around and showing off some of his AMAZING dance moves. I said "do you have ants in your pants?" to which Aiden replied "No, I just have a dance in my butt." He is always good for a laugh!
I other news, Kaylen is now 8 months old. Wow, how time flies. The past few night I think she has been teething. All I know is she has not slept well at all...as evidence by the bags under my eyes. YIKES! Hopefully the little suckers will pop through soon. She continues to be our little sweetie-pie. She loves to gives hugs and kisses and her goofy little wrinkles-nose grin can't help but make you smile. She is not crawling yet, but I think she is close. However, I have been saying that for over a month. I'm fine with her staying stationary, but I'm sure before soon she will be all over the house! She is talking more all the time. Gibberish of course, but she does say dada and mama, which is oh so cute!

Grandpas vs. boys
Saturday, May 16, 2009

I have been horrible at posting any pictures, so here you go! Last weekend we went up to Northfork for a drive. It was so nice outside and we had a great time. It made us yearn to go camping...a few more weeks. Of course, camping with a baby will pose its challenges, but I'm sure we will still have a loads of fun.
Kaylen is getting bigger by the second. She is sitting up well now and can scoot backwards. I give her a few weeks before she is army crawling. We'll see. She continues to be a very calm, mellow easy going baby. She is always smiley and cheerful. She has started giving us this new cheesy grin (as you can see in the pictures). It is so cute.
Aiden is great, as usual. He is excited for summer to come and can't wait to go camping. He continues to always make us laugh with his comments and anecdotes. Also, I think his snow boots have become permanently attached to his feet. What is it with boys and boots? Whenever he takes them off I try to hide them, but he eventually finds them. I've limited him from wearing them in public (shorts and snow boots look a little funny), but he continues to wear them all over the house and while playing outside. I think we will go shopping and find some irrigating boots to wear instead. His new favorite pasttime is to watch the weather. His usual routine after coming home from daycare is to eat a bowl of cereal and watch the news/weather with his dad. He'll always tell me "the weather man said...". I think he likes to see if it is going to be nice outside so he can wear shorts. Who knows. Crazy kid!

Stinky dinosaurs
Last weekend Aiden was watching a show about dinosaurs. After it was over, I asked him what he learned. He went on to tell me how the dinosaurs are big and scary... and stinky! I asked him why they were stinky. "I don't know, they just said they stink." Oh, I get it. I then had to explain what it meant to be extinct!

~~~~~~Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby.........somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, normal is history.
~~~~~~~Somebody said a mother's job consists of wiping noses and changing diapers.........somebody doesn't know that a child is much more than the shell he lives in.
~~~~~~~Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct........... somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.
~~~~~~~Somebody said being a mother is boring.........somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.
~~~~~~~Somebody said teachers, psychologists, and pediatricians know more about children than their mothers....somebody hasn't invested her heart in another human being.
~~~~~~~Somebody said being a mother is what you do in your spare time..... somebody doesn't know that when you're a mother, you're a mother ALL the time.
~~~~~~~Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices.......somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child wind up a golf ball into the neighbor's kitchen window.
~~~~~~~Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother....... somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.
~~~~~~~Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her childbearing questions in the books........ somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose.
~~~~~~~Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery...... somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten.
~~~~~~~Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back........somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies.
~~~~~~Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married....... somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.
~~~~~~Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home...... somebody never had grandchildren.
~~~~~~Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her....... somebody isn't a mother.

Kayeln 5 months

Here are a few recent pictures of the kids. We have had big happenings in the Greenwald household in the past few weeks. We have traveled the past two weeks to Casper and Pinedale. We always love visiting our families and we all had a great time. It is always an adventure taking a road trip with kids, but they both did pretty well. Last Friday Kaylen finally rolled over from her back to front. Since then she has been rolling...and rolling and rolling and rolling all over the house. Aiden thinks this is hilarious, especially when she rolls to get to him. He told me yesterday that Kaylen is his best friend. We'll see if he still says the same thing when he is 16. While we were in Pindale Kaylen had her first trip to the swimming pool. She loved the water and is quite buoyant! Aiden always has a great time in the water. We got him some new goggles, which for some reason he calls "doggle goggles". I have no idea where that came from. On Sunday Kaylen had her first taste of real food. Rice cereal of course. Not too exciting but she seems to like it. This weekend we are planning to do absolutely nothing. After two weekends of travel we are all ready to veg!
