Kaylen is 10 weeks!

Our little girl is 10 weeks old already. This means only 2 more weeks for mom before I head back to work. As you can imagine, this is a very sad moment in time. While I don't think I could ever have the patients to be a stay at home mom, I have enjoyed the time off and being with my children. Kaylen continues to be a great baby; eating, sleeping and growing well! She is sleeping through the night which is such a relief. Aiden was over a year before he slept for 6+ hours, but Kaylen gave me a break and was sleeping for 6-8 hours stretches by 8 weeks. She continues to melt our hearts with her sweet snuggles and grins. As you can imagine, she didn't get much out of her first christmas but did seem to enjoy all the hustle and bustle. She especially enjoyed all the family around to hold her every second of the day! We hosted the Greenwald christmas at our house this year and the day after christmas we headed to Casper to visit the Cox side of the family. Kaylen was able to meet her Uncles Jason and Ryan, Aunt Vickie and cousin Sheridan for the first time. We love our families and enjoy spending time with them.

Birthday Boy!

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of Aiden's big #3 birthday. It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. After 22 hours of labor we were so glad to hold him in our arms. He was always a busy baby and continues to be a busy boy now. It is amazing to see the smart, funny young man he's growing into. He is so full of personality and love. If he is anything like he is now, we figure he will grow up to be the social director of life! Always making sure everyone is in their place, and yes he can be a bit bossy at times. (my mom would say he gets that from me) We love him so much and are so blessed with such a great little man.

Smiley Girl

Our sweet girl is five weeks old and has started to give us smiles on a regular basis. It is so precious. Now I'm ready for some giggles. There is nothing better than the sound of a baby laughing! In other news, she is sleeping really well usually only waking up once to eat then going right back to bed. She is spoiling me!

Diggin Rocks

Yesterday, we were driving to town and passed the beet dump and a sugar beet truck headed to the factory. Aiden and I started talking about when he got to ride in the tractor with Grandpa Bill during beet harvest. I also told him how we dig up the beets and they go to the factory to make sugar. So really, Grandpa Bill grows sugar. Aiden piped up and said "No, Grandpa Bill grows rocks." At first, I was a little puzzled but then, after I thought about it, the beets do kind of look like rocks covered with dirt. So, the whole beet season, everytime Aiden went in the tractor he thought he was digging up a whole field of rocks. At lease he had fun doing it. I still can't convice Aiden that they aren't rocks. He says "the other tractors dig sugar beets but Papa Bill grows rocks...BIG rocks!"

Sling Thing!

I just had to post a picture of Kaylen in her sling. She loves this thing and so do I. It usually puts her right to sleep and frees up my hands to do whatever needs done! Yeah!

Three weeks

It has been three weeks already-how the time flies. She continues to be a pretty good baby especially since we have solved some of her belly ache issues. We live off lots of gas drops and there are a few things that I have found I can't eat (chocolate being one of them...what a bummer). Aiden continue to love her to pieces and gives her kisses all the time as evidence by the pictures. Kaylen seems to have the Cox water bug genes as she LOVES her baths. In fact, the only time she cries is when she has to get out!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween 2008 was a great success. This weather was great, the costumes near perfection and we all had a great time. This was Aiden's first year of really understanding how trick or treating worked. It was very cute to watch. We did the downtown trick or treat run and every stop we made he would quietly say "trick or treat" and follow it with a big thank you. He made me so proud with his excellent manners. He ended up with a huge bag of candy...I think he is just now coming off the sugar high. He was SO excited to be Batman. We have probably put the costume on 20 times in the last few weeks. All day he was running around the house singing the Batman theme song. He had a blast.

Kaylen practically slept through the whole thing, but she looked darn cute doing it! The tutu will definitely go into her box of childhood treasures for her to open someday in the future. I hope it will bring a smile to her face as it sure did ours!
