Slip n' slide

Thought I would post a few pics of Aiden and his cousin's, Kade and Konner. They were here to visit a few weeks ago which just happened to be one of the last nice weather weekends we had. They had a blast. Aiden loves playing with all his cousins and took a special liking to Aunt "Sisha" (aka Trisha). Aiden was so tuckered at the end of the day that he was ASKING to go to bed - a very rare occasion.

Greenwalds Orlando Vacation!

Well, we made it to Orlando and had a great time! We arrived at the tail end of Tropical Storm Fay and left a few days before Hurricane Gustav made landfall. The timing couldn't have been better. Aiden was an angel on the planes-sleeping part of the way and quitely playing the rest. I'll take him in a plane over a car anyday! Truely he was on his best behavior all week. There was so much to see and do, I don't think he had time to be naughty. As expected, it was very hot and HUMID! This pregnant girl was dying, but we didn't let it slow us down. We went to SeaWorld the first day we were there which was awesome. The dolphin show was our favorite...Aiden is still talking about it. He also really liked seeing the sharks up close. We made frequent visits to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure since our hotel was within walking distance of both. We also hit a few water parks which was a huge relief from the humidity. All in all we had a great time and can't

wait to go back.

Comedy hour

Aiden has been more "2" then ever lately. We hear things like "don't look at me" or "don't talk to me" on a regular basis. One minute he's happy-go-lucky and the other he is mad at the world. Regardless of his ever changing mood swings, he still provides us with lots of comic releif. I thought I would share a few of his latest acts.

We got home from our busy day and going with the usual routine I started cooking some dinner, Trent was working on a few things around the house and Aiden was putting on his Oscar the Grouch routine. He kept insisting that he DID NOT want to eat dinner. I proceded to tell him we were having yummy roast beef with potatoes and carrots. He again scowled and said he was not eating. Alrighty then! He goes off and plays with his toys and 10 minutes later (mood change) he comes running into the kitchen all smiles and states "ready to eat ROAST BEAST now!" I think from now on we will always eat roast beast at our house. Too cute!

This other night, as it was nearing bedtime, I was flipping channels and Trent was reading the paper. Aiden was off in his own world playing with his beloved monster trucks. Trent piped up about some of the latest hot gossip in town to which I replied "Shut up! Are you serious" Aiden, being to the stage of hearing EVERYTHING, starts shouting "Shut up Daddy, Shut up!!!" Luckily all I said was shut up and not something worse! I guess we better start watching what we say!

So Aiden has never been much of a vegetable eater. It has been a struggle ever since I cracked the first jar of baby food. The other night we were eating dinner...some really good chicken and pasta salad. Aiden was picking through the contents of his plate, only eating the pasta and none of the peas and carrots. Trent proceeds to tell him the story of how Spiderman (his all time favorite action hero) got to be so strong-from eating all his "Power Peas". Trent takes a bite of his peas and then shows Aiden his bulging biceps. Aiden think about this a minute and then picks out one tiny pea, pops it in his mouth and says "I eat my power peas like spiderman and daddy" and shows us his muscles. Ever since then he keeps flexing his arms and growls "POWER PEAS"
(PS...Later I found out this is how Jeanne got Trent to eat his peas too. Power peas for everyone!)

Where did the summer go?

As I sit here on this cool August morning, it reminds me that summer is winding down. As you can guess, I have mixed emotions about this fact. On one hand, we are getting closer to the "big day" when our new little one will arrive, but it also means no more camping, playing outside and all the other fun stuff that goes along with summer. We've had some great adventures this year with a few more to come. We've made a few camping trips, though not as many as I had hoped. I went to a conference in Minneapolis in July which was great. The weather was perfect and I was able to see lots of what the area had to offer including the Mall of America! In a few weeks, Trent, Aiden and myself will be headed to Orlando. Another conference for me but also a chance for the three of us to get away and have some fun.

In other news, I had another ultrasound on Wednesday. All is going well. Dr. Ellis gave us 90% chance of a girl-she wasn't being shy! Also, he estimated her weight to be 2 lbs 9oz. We are trying to narrow down the list of names which at this point include Kaylen, Lexie, Haylee, Leighton and Brooklyn. We will wait until we see her sweet little face to make a final decision. Her nursery is all ready so now we just hurry up and wait. As for Aiden, he is doing well. He got a big boy hair cut a few weeks ago which makes him look ever so handsome and grown up. We finished up swim lessons a few weeks ago which was alot of fun. He loves the water; not suprising since it runs in his genes.

I've attached a few pics including camping with the rest of the Cox clan, Aiden's first big catch, Trent big find (next years derby car) and the smoky scenery we've had in the area the past few weeks.

Dump Truck ;-}

Last night Aiden comes into the living room and announces "I pooped in my truck" No excitement or fear of punishment in his voice, just plain and simple "I pooped in my truck". I, bewildered, said "did he just say what I think he said?" Sure enough, there in his dump truck is a little present. Trent and I are trying to hold back the giggles because it is a bit amusing. Being 10 feet from the bathroom, I asked him "why did you poop in your truck?" To which he replies "I had to mommy!" Now I'm really starting to laugh. I don't know why he "had to" but I guess the urge struck and when you gotta go, you gotta go. After we cleaned up the mess, Trent, being the smart a** he is, says "well, what do you expect? It is a dump truck." HA HA! And I wonder where Aiden gets it from!

I'm so glad you're here!

My precious little boy! Yesterday I had to go to the store as we had NO food in the house. Aiden was taking his afternoon nap so I decided to go shopping unattended...always a treat! So, I got all the necessary items and headed back home. As I pulled into the driveway I saw Aiden bust open the door and head outside. He came running up to me, wrapped his little arms around my legs and said "I so glad your here Mommy, I miss you" He is such an angel and we're so lucky to have him. We are blessed. In other news, Aiden and I went to the Billings Zoo on Saturday. We met Tina and the girls there for a day of fun. The bear and the tiger were definately the biggest hit, especially since the bear walk right in front of us-less then a foot from Aiden's face plastered on the window. He also enjoyed feeding the goats. We tried to go to the water park after lunch, but Aiden decided he'd had enough fun for one day and had the 2 year old meltdown! Needless to say we left for home, but Aiden had a great time overall! Next weekend we'll head to the Big Horns for the Cox/Greenwald family camping trip. Should be a great time!
